Reproduction and population growth: every adult worm regularly produces cocoons (capsules holding several eggs); under optimal moisture and temperature, a well-managed population can double every 60–90 days. That's why the Worm Starter Cup of 30 to 50 worms works as a starter batch: well cared for, it grows into a much larger population within a few months.
